FAQs
When will I receive my item?
We handmake every item to order. In some cases, materials don’t get ordered to make your item until after you purchase it. Please allow 5-7 business days for children’s items to ship and an extra 3-5 days for delivery. For women’s items, allow 10-12 days for shipment and 3-5 additional days for delivery. Tracking information is provided via the email used at checkout. For locals, pickups are free on Saturdays at Create and Curate Co. You will receive an email with instructions when your order is ready for pickup.
Returns/Exchanges
We understand that ordering the right size online can be difficult. While we aim to make it as simple as possible with our individual sizing guides for each product, we offer exchanges within 14 days of receiving your order (you pay return shipping). We pay to ship your replacement item. If an item wasn’t what you expected or didn’t fit expectations, you can also return your item within 14 days of delivery with the tags on (you pay return shipping). You will be refunded to your original payment method within 3-5 days of our receiving your item.
What makes Huckleberry sustainable?
“Sustainability” is a term that can be a green-washing term that we’d like to make transparent. Sustainability is at the heart of what we do. Every fabric is either rescued or carries a sustainable label (OEKO-Tex 100, organic, GOTS, Fair Trade). All other notions (thread, zips, buttons, etc.) are purchased from small business owners and secondhand fabric stores. Our packaging is fully compostable (minus the shipping label, we’re still working on that!): our mailer/box, recycled paper cards, and tags with plant-based dyes, tape, hemp twine, and recycled tissue paper are all compostable or can be easily recycled.
How do you give back?
Our tagline for this business has been “always handmade, always sustainable, always gives back.” We believe that business should serve a higher purpose than simply providing a product to a customer. With every purchase, we donate 2% to Charity:Water and O.U.R. Rescue. We chose these charities because they are extremely transparent with where funds are distributed and they address problems that are integral to human life: clean water and rescuing our children from child sex trafficking.
Why so expensive?
Our focus is on quality over quantity. We believe items should be purchased less and treasured longer. Instead of pressuring you to overbuy cheap clothing, we create high-quality handmade clothing whose price point allows for every person involved to be adequately compensated for their work. For more information on ethical fashion and sustainability, we recommend starting with the documentary “The True Cost” and the book Fibershed.
