family book list for mid-winter | no. 29

Mid-winter is the perfect time to crack open a new book or peruse an old favorite while the snow falls gently outside. The weather starts to gently warm and then snap back into a frigid snow-scape like a game of ping pong, inviting us to not take ourselves too seriously and enjoy resting before the springtime teams with life.

This list of books is for the whole family in the cold winter months. Early in the year, half of the family got hit with sickness that lasted a month. During that time, we read through at least 4 chapter books. I have to say, it was one of the most enjoyable ways to wait out a sickness.

While I hope your family is healthy and happy, I know you’ll enjoy these wholesome, thoughtful books for the whole family. This list includes chapter books, picture books, and books for you! I encourage you to find these at the library first, or purchase them used if you’d like to own them for yourself. I’ve linked Thriftbooks below where applicable.
